Pavilion Engagement Photos at Night

It gets dark so early these days that by the time people have time for photos, golden hour is over. Of course we do our best to make time in our schedules for photos at a good time of day for lighting, but sometimes that doesn’t happen! So I decided to go for pavilion engagement photos in a lighted pavilion.

I’m beginning a personal style project that will include samples of several kinds of photos that I offer (see this page for more details) and I needed some models for engagement photos. Despite asking around and posting on multiple Facebook groups, nobody wanted free pictures (at least, not at the time slot I had open). So I asked my boyfriend if he’d model with me and I set up my tripod. We are NOT engaged, haha, but I thought the pictures turned out super cute. Pavilion engagement photos always make me think of The Sound of Music, especially this scene.

I wasn’t in love with the lighting, but I did my best to fix it up in post! My specialty is warm golden hour photos, but when the sun goes down, we make do with what we’ve got! I still kept the warm golden glow that I like to have in all my photos.
